The Caribbean islands seem to be a favorite honeymoon destination for newlyweds. The weather there is sunny all year round and it’s possible to enjoy many activities together; there are tours to take, water sports to try, exotic dancing to do or simply a spot on the beach to relax, bathing in the sun.
In recent years, many couples are not only choosing the Caribbean islands for their honeymoon, but also for their wedding ceremony as well. However, there are both advantages and disadvantages on which to ponder when making such a decision.
First and foremost, you need to consider who you would like to attend your wedding. By law, you will most likely be required to have a certain number of witnesses. You probably would not imagine your wedding without your father walking you down the aisle or your best friend as a bridesmaid. Remember, every guest you invite will have to fly to the island and many of them won’t be able to afford their tickets. So, you will have to pay for all or at least some of them. If your budget can’t bear that, you might not be able to have everyone present at your wedding ceremony. The cost of a Caribbean wedding is a great disadvantage.
Another thing to keep in mind is that the same way you would like to vacation around the area after the wedding, some of your guests will probably want to do same. So, while it’s nice to have your family and friends there for the wedding, you probably would prefer not to see them around during your honeymoon, right? So to have some privacy, you might want to plan staying at an all inclusive couples only resort.
However, one of the advantages is that you are already at your vacationing spot. Traveling can be stressful and that’s not the way you want to start your new life with your spouse. So, instead unnecessary stress, you can just go right into paradise. Besides, having the ocean in a beautiful sunset as the background for your wedding will make it a very memorable one. So, a Caribbean wedding may be perfect for you after all.
If you decide to follow through with it, contact a wedding planner from the specific island where you would like to tie the knot at. He or she will make sure that the biggest day of your life be the best one ever and that your honeymoon be a delight.
Best wishes!

Ligia, Beautiful picture and good information about destination weddings. I have never been to a tropical wedding, but it really is becoming popular. Perhaps I should consider getting married all over again!
There you go Corinne! I think that would be a great idea. Thanks for stopping by.
