An entrepreneur is, first and foremost, someone who is a self-starter and a risk-taker who has vision and drive to start something new that he thinks will benefit himself, his family and his community.
A business minded person is a leader. He is ready to take ownership of his own life, time and financial means. He is ready to become his own boss and assume all the hardships and responsibilities that come with it.
He is determined. He has decided that in spite of the fear and the risks, he is ready to start on his own. He has the necessary skills and enough experience on a certain area to start a business. And he wants to be able to profit from his own labor.
He knows it will be hard at the beginning, but he will benefit from this important decision in the long run. It’s time to use his own expertise to work for himself and his family.
The entrepreneur is aware that he will have to carefully study his targeted market and understand their real needs. And he realizes he has to do two very important things to win over the completion: He has to be creative and to deliver the goods.
The business person realizes that creating a product or a service that is unique but that at the same time meets the needs of his prospects is key to his success. His confidence will help him to stay poised and firm to arrive where he needs to go.
After some careful thought, the entrepreneur will be ready to make the biggest decisions of his lifetime:
- What kind of product or service will he offer?
- Who will benefit from it?
- Where will his business be located? When will he start it?
- How is he going to do it?
Once the products or services are identified, it is now time for the entrepreneur to think about the necessary capital. Then, he needs to choose the facility, the office furniture and all the relevant tools.
Perhaps, at the beginning, he will be able to handle the company by himself. But as the business grows, he will need to hire some staff. He will have to select like-minded people who are willing to work together towards success.
As you can see, an entrepreneur is someone very special: He is mature and hard working. He has a positive attitude as well as leadership. Above all, he is humble and accepts the fact that starting a business equals a modest beginning.
